Your First Massage…
On your first visit, the RMT will perform an assessment to gain an understanding of your condition or concern. The assessment will include verbal questions, range of motion, and orthopedic and neurological testing. The assessment will allow the RMT to choose the best Registered Massage Therapy treatment option for you.
Additional Massages…
On your second, third and ongoing Registered Massage Therapy treatment, the RMT will already have a good understanding of your concern. Additional treatments will be focused and last the full duration. Chiropractic patients can coordinate with the front desk staff to arrange a time to get adjusted and massaged at the same visit. Dr. Brock encourages his patients to get adjusted first to balance the nervous system and relax tight muscles so that the Registered Massage Therapy can focus on deeper issues in the musculoskeletal system.
Are you still considering if Registered Massage Therapy is for you?
Massage therapy should be done by someone who has the specific training to detect the problem and help correct it. Having been trained in numerous techniques our RMT holds a registration with the College of Registered Massage Therapist in Ontario.
Can’t Anyone Massage?
While anyone can attempt a massage, a Registered Massage Therapist has completed the schooling, completed the practical hours, completed the Ontario Board Exams and has to register with the College of Registered Massage Therapist. More importantly, a Registered Massage Therapist has the clinical expertise to increase your quality of life. That is why we start with an assessment to see what your clinical needs are and the best was to care for it. A Registered Massage Therapist has the ability to do direct billing to all insurance companies who have that functionality.
